Rainforest Animals

The rainforest
is filled with some of the most amazing animals to be found
anywhere. The incredibly diverse vegetation of these forests
may explain why they contain so many unique creatures.
Some of the animals you'll find in the rainforest are:
The very rare
and shy Amazon
Pink River Dolphin. The Amazon Pink River Dolphin (or Boto) is the largest of the river dolphins.
The worlds
largest rodent - the Capybara.
Capybaras are excellent swimmers, and have partially webbed feet. They mate in the water, use the water to hide from predators, and can stay submerged for several minutes. Capybaras can even sleep underwater, with only the nose
exposed!
The Harpy Eagle is found in lowland tropical rainforest from southern Mexico to northern Argentina, and with a wingspan of up to 6 feet is one of the largest eagles in the world.
It is an actively hunting carnivore, mainly targeting tree-dwelling mammals such as monkeys, coatis,
or sloths; it may also attack other bird species.
These animals
are just the tip of the iceberg! Here are links
